Vision & Definitions

Our vision is to fight against and identify laws, policies, programs and projects that use data and information in an unjust and inequitable manner that would suppress minority communities. Every individual and neighborhood deserve an opportunity to succeed and thrive as a result of shared equity.


AHCC has adopted the following Definitions:

  • Social Equity “The fair, just and equitable management of all institutions serving the public directly or by contract, and the fair and equitable distribution of public services, and implementation of public policy, and the commitment to promote fairness, justice, and equity in the formation of public policy.” The Standing Panel on Social Equity in Governance (NAPA) 2016

  • Health Illiteracy "is the in ability to comprehend and use medical information that can affect access to and use of the health-care system." The Lancet 2009
