"These rules may seem simple enough, but it will require great morale and physical courage to adhere to them. But if carried out in the strict sense of the word it will surely lead to a greater success than could otherwise be attained."

East Knoxville Community Cycling Club

Designed around building and creating healthy green spaces to play, walk, bike and exercise.

EKCCC aims to promote health along Martin Luther King Jr. Ave and within underserved communities of East Knoxville. EKCCC is working to improve green space for biking and walking opportunities in the East Knoxville community within the newly designed "Downtown East at Five Points" along the Martin Luther King corridor. We are promoting diversity, equity, and access in outdoor spaces where people of color are underrepresented.  Promoting healthy lifestyles for cyclists of all ages, advocate for bicycle safety on behalf of inner city youth, educate members about bike maintenance, rules of the road, and legendary Black cyclist. EKCCC is working with the city of Knoxville, TDOT, and TDEC to install bike lanes, new curb cuts, lighting, wayfinding signage, pocket parks, and improved bus stops. With these goals in mind, we can build stronger, healthier communities for the future through the sport of bicycling; expand the capabilities of youth from communities where exposure and access to this sport and lifestyle are limited.
